According to recent reports, “Barcelona” is going to add “Juventus” midfielder Miralem Pjanic in the summer. However, many believe that the Catalan club should not buy the Bosnian player.

Tribuna offers 3 reasons why  Blaugrana don’t need a 30-year-old midfielder.

  1. The abundance of midfielders – “Barcelona” already has many midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Arthur, Frank de Jong, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, and Ricky Pucci. In the summer, the lease expires, and the midfielders, such as Philippe Coutinho, Carles Alena, and Rafinha Alcantara, return to the club.
  2. Not match Blaugrana’s playing style – Although the Juventus star is one of the best midfielders in Europe, he does not have the qualities suitable for a typical Blaugrana midfielder.
  3. Other Priorities – Barcelona should focus on different positions. The Catalans should focus on strengthening their defense and attack if they want to fight for all the titles again.

Is Pjanic better than Arthur?

Barcelona’s transfer plans have been known for a long time. But due to the current situation, which has put the club in a financial crisis, these transfers are possible only by exchanging players.

As you know, currently, Barça does not hide that they are in talks with Juventus about Miralem Pjanic. This transfer raises many questions. Pjanic is already 30 years old, and it should not be impossible to capture him. But “Juventus” stubbornly demands the involvement of Arthur Mello in the transfer.

It is clear that Barça need Pjanic to replace Rakitic, who will most likely leave the club. They are identical players in the style of play, and Pjanic should be able to replace him.

But it is absurd to give up Arthur in exchange for him. To put it mildly, because the Brazilian is just 23 years old and has a whole career ahead of him. At the same time, he fits the style of play of “Barcelona,” and the club have high hopes for him.
