Scott McTominay has all qualities to be crowned as influential for the Red Devils. His team-mate Nemanja Matic backs the youngster to become a legend at the club.

Since making his way into United’s first team under Mourinho, McTominay has grown to be a key player in the club’s ranks.

The 23-year-old has been in good form at Old Trafford till he suffered an injury against Newcastle United on Boxing day last year.

During his absence, the player was missed as the club suffered successive defeats to Burnley and Arsenal after his injury.

Since his return to action last month, the Scotsman has been part of a resurgent United side who were currently 11 games unbeaten prior to football suspension.

Matic, who recently got a one-year contract extension after an improvement in form believes his midfield partner will be an asset to any side.

“We are always talking, especially when he started to play in the first team. But now, he is a proper senior player. He plays like he’s had 10 years in the first team. With him, we don’t have any problems.” Said Matic.

“I think he will be a very important player for Manchester United in the next 10 years or more. He is the kind of player and person that you always want to have in the changing room.”

Additionally, Matic also claimed McTominay was quality enough and has all it takes to be a legend at the club.

“He is very professional with a lot of quality in the legs. His mentality is what Manchester United needs to have. So, I think that with any coach, in any club, he will fit very well.”

“I’m happy for him and United that they have a player like that in the team. He just needs to continue how he’s been working until now. I’m sure he will be one of Manchester United legends one day.”
