If the Serie A season was running in its usual course, AC Milan should be hosting Juventus today. You know what that means, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would have met Cristiano Ronaldo head-to-head.

AC Milan and Juventus are the most decorated sides in Italian football. Much like their two talismans, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo respectively, few are ahead of them in the ranks of greatness.

It is very likely that this game would have been crucial to both sides. Not just in terms of a win being a win, but in Juventus’ quest for an unprecedented 9th consecutive Scudetto and Milan’s attempts to qualify for Europe.

The Italian giants were involved in a three-way battle for the league title with Lazio and Inter. Meanwhile, Milan was under a mini resurgence since Ibrahimović’s arrival.

Significantly, Milan has hosted the Bianconeri in Serie A  a total of 86 times before, of which the Rossoneri have won 28 times, drawn 35 times and lost 23 times.

The game has however seen a total of 229 goals.

A similar game last season saw Juventus run out two-nil winners, with Ronaldo getting the club’s 100th goals at the San Siro against Milan.

What a game this would have been was it to be aired? Which team would have won?
