Tottenham Hotspur revealed they have no intention of selling striker Harry Kane to their domestic rivals this summer.
The Tottenham striker, Harry Kane signed a six-year contract with Spurs in June 2018. Last month, the 26-year-old said he would not stay at the north London club “just for the sake of it” and there are reports chairman Daniel Levy would be open to selling him for about £200m.
Among the clubs interested in Kane was Manchester United. The Reds are long-time admirers of the England captain.
However, Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Harry Kane to Manchester United or any other Premier League rivals this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s response
Now that Tottenham have no intention of doing business with Manchester United, the stance will no doubt serve as a blow to United legend Roy Keane after he urged his former club to sign the England international.
“Go and get Kane. Just go and get Kane from Spurs, easy.” Said Roy Keane.
“Yeah, what are you still staring at?”
“He scores 20 goals a season with his eyes shut. They are in disarray. Go and get him.”
With that said, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer later had the chance to respond to what his former teammate had said and appeared to be in agreement.
“Roy’s quite straight forward, isn’t he” Said Solskjaer.
“There aren’t many Lewandowski’s and Harry Kane’s. They are like Shearer, Van Nistelrooy, fantastic players.”
“Ours are different types of players but I, like someone who can finish half a chance and Harry does that. But Harry is a Tottenham player.”
As things stand, Keane and Solskjaer will not be getting their wish of Kane at the “Theatre of Dreams” next season. To Tottenham fans, this will be music to the ear.
