The G.O.A.T, Lionel Messi wants Neymar JR at Barcelona. Similarly, former club president Sandro Rosell says he would re-sign the Brazilian given he was still in the hot-seat.

Former Barcelona president, Sandro Rosell believes Messi is still in need of Neymar. In this case, he has urged the Spanish giants to re-sign the Brazilian.

Rosell was in charge at Camp Nou when Neymar initially signed for the Blaugrana in 2013. This is before going on to score 105 goals in 186 outings for Blaugrana.

Since leaving Barcelona, the Brazilian has continued to be linked with a return back to the club despite a prolific record for PSG. He has so far scored 69 times in 80 appearances.

Alongside Barcelona, rivals Real Madrid are another side also believed to be in the running for Neymar.

More so, Rosell has explained why Messi wants his former team-mate back at the club. While also adding that if he was still in power, he would have no problems resigning the 28-year-old.

Messi remains a close friend of Neymar. The two teamed up with to great effect during his previous spell at the club along Luiz Suarez who remains at Camp Nou recovering from an injury.

While some reports suggested Neymar’s move to France had a negative effect on the closeness of players, Mundo Deportivo reports these to be off the mark with the Argentine eager to united with the 101-time capped Brazilian.

When the 2019/20 season stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic, both Barcelona and PSG were top of their respective leagues. Both remained alive in the Champions League though the Catalans in a precarious position in the last 16 following a 1-1 draw with Napoli away from home.
