According to former Rossoneri man, Kevin-Prince Boateng, AC Milan must not let go of Zlatan Ibrahimovic because he is a “game-changer.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a player with great influence in AC Milan. For this reason, the club could be better off by keeping the “game-changer.” Said Boateng.

Ibrahimovic and Boateng starred in Rossoneri colors in their 2010/11 title-winning. Since then, Milan has failed to get its hands on the title. In that season, the two combined to score 31 goals and developed a formidable partnership on the pitch.

Now, the big Swede is at Milan for a second time after joining on a six-month deal that’s set to expire at the end of the season.

It remains uncertain as to whether the Milan hierarchy wants to still keep Ibrahimovic at the club. For any side the club might choose, Boateng has urged them to keep the players, hailing the 38-year-old as the perfect team-mate.

He said, “Milan must keep Ibrahimovic. He knows how to make a difference.”

“It was easy for me to play with him. I understand it immediately. He asks a lot from his teammates but he gave me a lot of space, he gave me balls that I dreamed of.”

“Zlatan was the perfect companion. He criticized everyone if he didn’t get the ball well or if you were wrong in front of the goal. But, in doing so he was teaching.”

Ibrahimovic criticizes Malmo fans

The former Sweden international began his career at Malmo where he scored 18 goals in 47 appearances before joining Ajax in 2001.

Ibrahimovic had a statue unveiled in Malmo last year but supporters were livid after he became a part-owner of rivals Hammarby.

Some fans set the statue on fire while others covered it in paint and let off fireworks near it. The statue’s nose was cut off in December last year.

In response, the 38-year-old Swede described the Malmo supporters as being in the “kindergarten level” for defacing his statue.

He said, “it’s a shame. They want attention and want the media to write about it. It’s a kindergarten level and we’re bigger than that.”

“The statue was what it was. But that doesn’t mean that my story will be torn down. It will remain forever.”

Despite being in AC Milan, Ibrahimovic is currently training with Hammarby. Being 38, he has had a lengthy and varied career that has taken in spells at a host of clubs.
