Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Ince says his former club will absolutely be “daft” not to move for the Tottenham striker, Harry Kane.

Manchester United has been linked with a move for the 26-year-old this summer. In March, Kane highlighted his ambitions as a player and admitted he would not stay at Spurs “for the sake of it.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, former United midfielder, Paul Ince does not expect his former club to approach and land on Kane’s signature.

He said, “I cannot see Harry’s move to Manchester United happening. I can see him going and wanting to leave Tottenham but not to join United.”

“People keep saying Kane will join United and forget they have the upfront Marcus Rashford. Kane has always wanted to play upfront. What you need to remember is, he can also play off the left-hand side as we’ve seen from plenty of his goals this season.”

“Between him and Anthony Martial, Kane coming in would also bring some competition to the side. There’s always been a sense of competition at United. It would be nice to see that back again, players fighting for their places.”

“So, if you’re looking at Rashford left, Kane center and Jadon Sancho on the right, it sounds pretty nice. But it probably sounds like a dream for a season.”

The England captain still have a few years to run on his contract which expires in 2024. This clearly means if United are interested in the striker, it will have to break the bank to sign him.

However, Tottenham on the other side will be opposed to letting their talisman go, particularly to a rival. With the current economic crisis hampering club’s spending this summer, a transfer does not look to be on the cards anytime soon.
