Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland made a quick start to life in his new jersey after completing a €20m move from RB Salzburg in January.

Haaland netted 9 times in 8 games in Bundesliga which saw him win the league’s player of the month award in his debut month.

The 19-year-old ever since has gained much attraction from all of Europe this season.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale’s dip in form coupled with summer signing Luka Jovic’s failure to rise to the occasion has often seen Real Madrid get thin on the attacking front. Hence, the LA Liga giants reportedly identified Haaland as a viable solution to the attacking woes.

While many may find the Spanish capital flattering and hard to resist, the 19-year-old particularly is not interested. Instead, he said he wants to remain focused on his current club.

He said, “I focus on Borussia Dortmund and not the attention that is towards me. I think about doing my job, which is the thing I love most. Without doubt, I started well in Borussia Dortmund. My concentration is on work to improve every day.”

“I see that by taking care of the details, I learn more and more. I try to be in the best possible shape.”

Haaland looking forward to Schalke clash

The Bundesliga is set to resume on Saturday after the suspension due to Coronavirus. Dortmund is set the face Schalke in the Revierderby to restart the season.

Erling Haaland is excited to experience the fixture even though it will be played in an empty stadium.

“I can’t wait to live and play my first Ruhr derby. I have played other derbies but never like this.” Said Haaland.
