Joe Gomez insists his Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson deserves to be recognized for all he does both on and off the field of play.
From a footballing perspective, Jordan Henderson has to be a front runner for the PFA player of the year award.
The captain’s form and contribution to Liverpool’s dominance of the Premier League have been exceptional.
However, since the abrupt hiatus of football, and the global pandemic that has faced those less fortunate, Henderson has been a driving force off the pitch too.
The England international led the “Players Together” charity, which saw players donate not only money but time to help the underprivileged.
His England and Liverpool teammate, Gomez insists that his skipper must be recognized for being a good example.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he hopes people see what kind of person Henderson is.
He said, “So much credit has got to be given to Hendo. Hopefully, within the last few months and seasons, he has started to get the recognition he deserves”.
“He is an unbelievable person for me. He’s been such a leader in different ways, on and off the pitch. Hendo has taken massive responsibility in these last few months and it’s been nice in a different way. I think”.
“You see the leader on the pitch, the person that leads by example. But I think off it some of the things he has done and organized have been massive”.
“Not just for him, and bigger than this club, it has United organizations, the Premier League”.
“As footballers, it has given us the platform to come across in the right way and do our bit. Hendo will hopefully continue to get the recognition he deserves. This because I think here, among us as a club, we’re so grateful to have him as our leader”.
