No teenager has ever scored more goals in a single campaign for the Old Trafford than the 18-year-old Greenwood. The forward has a 17-goals haul in all competitions that placed him level with Wayne Rooney, George Best, and Brian Kidd.

Such performances saw Greenwood establish himself as part of Solskjaer’s first-choice attack with his fine displays across the frontline leading Gareth Southgate to call him into the senior squad for the first time.

“it’s a dream come true”. Said Greenwood. “Playing for England and being selected for England is every young boy’s dream”.

“I’m privileged and I’m obviously honored to be selected because it’s a good group of lads and I’m just happy”.

“Any young football player would want to break records. And If you didn’t there is something wrong. It’s always nice to have visions and goals you set in your football career and that goes for virtually any England forward”.

“Just go out there, do you best, break records, and be remembered forever”.

“The games have come so quickly and you have to be focused 100% at all times. My whole family was excited for me”.

“It’s happened quick. You can be called on at any time and I got called in for some Europa League games early in the season and took my chances. I took every game as it came and just played my football”.

Greenwood enjoys working with a prolific goal scorer in United, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“Ole is a big part of my game. Obviously, he’s helped me to get where I am now and he’s given me the chances to prove to everyone what I can do”. Added Greenwood.

“I am glad he’s there and he’s a good manager. When he’s talking to me, I am always listening and always taking his advice on”.

Previously, Greenwood has represented the Three Lions at Under-17, Under-18, and Under-21 level. He, therefore, adds senior boss Gareth Southgate is a “great coach”.

“He just said to me to take my chances and play with a smile on my face. That’s what I’ll try to do”.

“Obviously I’m ready to compete with anyone. Everyone is pushing for individual places. That’s what it’s all about. But we are a team here”,
