The 33-year-old French forward Olivier Giroud will defend Chelsea’s honor until the summer of 2021. The Londoners also extended the contract of goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

 

Chelsea have extended their contract with French striker Olivier Giroud. The official website of Chelsea reports about it. The new agreement between the player and the club will run until the summer of 2021.

“I am delighted that my move to Chelsea continues. I look forward to returning to football with my teammates. I’ve put on the Chelsea uniform, and I will go out in front of our fans, overflowing at Stamford Bridge, when it will be safe,” said the Frenchman.

 

Transfer rumors about Giroud’s transfer to Inter will not take place

 

It was recently reported that Olivier Giroud was about to leave Chelsea. It has even been suggested that the French forward agreed to a pay cut. Inter Milan was named the future club of the French striker.

As Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote, the 33-year-old striker was ready to agree on a salary reduction if he moveდ to Nerazzurri.

Giroud makes 135,000 pounds a week at Chelsea. At Antonio Conte’s team, his weekly salary would be 110,000 pounds.

So, his transfer will no longer take place.

As you know, Olivier Giroud moved to Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2018. The transfer cost € 17 million. The 33-year-old forward has played in nine Premier League games for England this season, scoring two goals. Giroud has also won the Europa League and England Cup with Chelsea.
