Louis van Gaal slams Barcelona and Turin Juventus. The Dutch coach believes both clubs made serious transfer mistakes when they bought Ajax players in summer.

Many exciting and expensive transfers were made in the summer of 2019. Some players have successfully used the advances given to them, but there are some players who have not been able to start new teams yet.

The Dutch coach Louis van Gaal said that both Barcelona and Juventus had made a mistake during the summer transfer window. They bought the Ajax players by mistake.

“Juventus needed a player like Frank de Jong. And Matthijs de Ligt would solve problems in Barcelona’s defense. Frank is not playing for his position in Barcelona. At Ajax, he was in control of everything, defining the game from the center. Barcelona doesn’t do the same.

You may have already known that Barcelona had paid € 75 million to Ajax for De Jong’s transfer and that Juve from Amsterdam received € 85 million in exchange for De Ligt’s transfer.

Matthijs De Ligt is among 5 Most Unsuccessful Transfers of last summer

After his successful season in Ajax last summer, Matthijs de Ligt, there were quite a lot of applicants who wanted De Ligt in their team.

Barcelona and Juventus were the most active. But finally, the Dutchman decided to pursue a career in Italy and joined the Turin Grand.

The best young center-half had high hopes for playing along with the Old Lady. But De Ligt doesn’t look good in Turin. It seems he has frustrated the club’s expectations. Though he is only 20 years old and has everything ahead.

At the moment, the Dutchman has played 26 matches in Serie A and managed to score two goals, though he looks unstable and has enough errors.
