The Brazilian international, Alex Telles who had made only one Manchester United club appearance since his deadline day transfer from Porto tests positive for COVID.
Telles, who joined United on a four-year-deal from Porto did not feature in the 5-0 Champions League win over RB Leipzig. Since his arrival, the 27-year-old defender made a single appearance for Solskjaer in the impressive win over PSG.
Prior to the Champions League clash with RB Leipzig, Solskjaer confirmed the wing-back had returned a positive test and would be required to self-isolate for a period of 10 days.
“Yeah, he’s been out now for a little while because he has tested positive for coronavirus”. Confirmed Solskjaer.
“No symptoms. He’s fine and we can’t wait to have him back”.
Following the 5-0 win against RB Leipzig, Telles wrote on Instagram to give an update on his current situation. He confirmed he is currently suffering no ill-effects from the virus.
He posted, “guys, I want to thank you for the messages of affection that I received from the moment that United announced I have been diagnosed with COVID-19”.
“I want to say I am fine, isolated and soon I will be back with all my strength to help my teammates. Once again, thank you for your lovely messages”.
