Juventus confirms that Massimiliano Allegri has replaced Andrea Pirlo as the club’s manager despite the 42-year-old achieving the club’s objectives.

It is yet to be revealed how Pirlo and Juventus parted ways, but rumors claim that they fired their coach. Pirlo, who leaves the club only after one season, reveals the news come unexpectedly. He claims he had achieved all the club’s objectives and did not expect it.

Confirming in a statement, Juventus repeatedly said, “Massimiliano Allegri is the Juventus coach once more. Massimiliano Allegri is the Juventus coach once more.”

“Allegri returns to a bench that he knows very well, a club that he loves and that loves him back, to begin today a new journey together, toward new goals,” the club added the statement.

Reports claim that the 53-year-old signed a three-year deal with the club after reaching an agreement. However, in their statement, Juventus seems to have sacked the former player.

“A few months ago, Andrea Pirlo, an icon of world soccer, began his new adventure. His first as a coach,” the club said.

“To do this, first of all, it takes courage, as well as awareness of one’s own means … Pirlo has just begun the first steps of what will no doubt become a brilliant career as a coach,” Juventus added.

“Since in soccer, what counts are the victories, let’s remember them: in the space of a few short months, Pirlo’s Juve has raised two trophies: The Italian Supercup and the Coppa Italia. And he, as a coach, brought home brilliant victories on the most prestigious of fields, from San Siro to Camp Nou,” Juventus remembered.

Though Pirlo’s statement suggests that he was fired, it is yet to be revealed. According to the former player, ‘Maestro Pirlo’ as he was nicknamed in his playing time, the decision surprised him.

“My first season as a coach is over. It was an intense year, complicated but marvelous at the same time,” Pirlo confirmed.

“This adventure, despite ending in a way I didn’t expect, has made it even clearer what I want my future to be,” Pirlo added.
