Atalanta had a perfect come-back against Roma. The guest team scored in the first half and won the first 45 minutes. Everything changed in the second half and Atalanta could score four goals without conceding more.

Gasperini’s team has a perfect run

After a big win against Ajax, Atalanta is different. The players are way more accurate and they score a lot of goals. Keep in mind that Atalanta was the second team in the group before the game against Ajax. They visited Amsterdam and they were not favorites for that match. Ajax was ready to tear Atalanta’s defense apart and advance to the next level. Everything happened differently – Atalanta scored the only goal in the match and instead of Ajax, they advanced to the next round. In the next round of the Champions League, Atalanta will play against Real Madrid.

In Italy, Atalanta has taken every possible point after a big win against Ajax. It seems that winning in Amsterdam fully changed the mood of team players. Their self-confidence increased and it’s visible on results. Yesterday, Atalanta played against Roma that was also favorite for that match. Although Atalanta was playing at home-stadium, Roma was the main favorite.

Come-back from Atalanta

In the first half, Atalanta played averagely. They could not make a serious impact on the result. On the other hand, Roma was very aggressive in the attacking line. That’s why they could score a goal right at the start of the match. Everything changed in the second half when Atalanta put pressure on the defense of Roma. Atalant was pressing very high and Roma’s defenders could not come-up from defense. So, the ball was still on the side of Roma and it was easy for Atalanta to attack more. We should note the huge role of Ilicic. He got a chance to play in the second half and he changed the way Atalanta attacked. He gave a pass to Zapata and the striker equalized the game. In 10 minutes, Ilicic gave another assist – this time Gosens got the ball and scored a goal. In the end of the match Ilicic scored a goal and gave a three-goals lead to his team.
