Inter are creating something important

Antonio Conte has revealed that he turned Real Madrid down twice in the past as he was not willing to be a charge of a team that had already started their season. The current Inter coach will face Los Blancos on Tuesday in a Champions League match at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in Valdebebas. “I’m focused on Inter, and I’m excited,” Conte told the press before the game. “We are creating something important. The opportunity to coach Real Madrid was given, but the situation was not ripe. I appreciate it and I was very close a couple of times, but I thought the season had already started and it would be not easy. I explained that when they called me.”

Inter have managed just two points in their first two Champions League games this season. Despite playing against a European powerhouse, Conte wants his team to go to victory in the Spanish capital.

“In every game we need to score points, to win,” Conte added. “There are situations in which you face off against teams like this one built to win the Champions League in terms of the strength of your opponent. There is no team like Real Madrid. It is not a walk. We will go out to suffer and be ready for it. We’re not going to get into a corner to receive hits. We will face them without fear, as always”. Conte went on praise Real Madrid’s boss Zinedine Zidane and revealed that he has an excellent relationship with the Frenchman. “Zidane is an exceptional guy, a great man with whom I have a great relationship,” said Conte.
