AS Monaco Coach Niko Kovac has analyzed his side’s preparation and readiness for the Coupe de France cup Tier atmosphere.

After an impressive victory against Girondins de Bordeaux on Sunday, Monaco are back in action for the Coupe de France. Kovac travels to Groupama Stadium to face Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday in a bid to reach the semifinals.

Ahead of the tie, Kovac says he wants to go as far as possible. However, Monaco are contending to win Coupe de France silverware, a competition they have not won in 30 years.

“We want to go as far as possible. It’s a tough game against a competitive team. It will be a very good team that we will also face ten days later,” Kovac said.

“I want to win every match, just as my players do. I expect a tough game. We hope to have a positive outcome at the end,” the Croatian added.

Despite the desire to win every match, Kovac will be without four players affected by Covid 19. Also, he will miss Cesc Fàbrega.

Responding when asked of any absentees Kovac answered, “Yes. We will not be able to count on the four players affected by Covid-19 nor on Cesc Fàbregas.”

In the meantime, Kovac analyses his season, he confirms that his side has attained the season’s minimum requirements. Besides the achievement,  they will not rest. However, he added that what comes on their way now is a bonus.

“We have five games to play in the league and maybe three in the cup. We have already done the minimum by confirming a place in Europe next season. Now, what comes will be a bonus. We have no pressure. We can take advantage of the next five weeks.

“The mood at the club is very good. The staff and the players are happy. But we are competitors and we want to go higher,” he added.
