Ashley Young’s career at Inter Milan has got off to a flying start. Instead of players going to the Italian clubs to die, they appear to be thriving.

Conte appears to be on a season-long troll of United. Having gotten the best out of Lukaku, he has got an instant tune out of Young.

In particular, Young has already done more for his new club than he did for his previous side this season.

The 34-year-old plays for Antonio Conte’s side as the right wing-back in the 5-3-2 system. Therefore, the system allows him to get forward more and rip an instant reward. The former England international received the ball in the right-back position, took a touch and whipped in a beautiful cross for Lautaro Martinez who headed in their opener after 29 minutes of his debut against Cagliari.

Goalscorer Martinez was sent off in injury time for two quick-fire bookings and the second for dissent.

Young, the first Englishman to play for Inter since Paul Ince in 1997 has now managed more assists in Serie A than the Premier League in the past year.

He failed to set up a League goal in his final 31 appearances for United-a run going back to December 2018.  Ironically, they criticized Young for his crossing ability-or lack of.

With no assists, all season, his move to Inter Milan is likely to frustrate the Red Devils and their fans who will feel like they can’t catch a break.

Inter is three points behind Juventus who lost 2-1 to Napoli later on Sunday.
