It was announced on Sunday that two people at Atletico Madrid have tested positive for the coronavirus. So now, this Monday, the club has confirmed that they are Angel Correa and Sime Vrsaljko. As such, no player can travel to Lisbon for the Champions League final eight. The good news for Atletico Madrid, however, is that no other player or coach has returned positive results after they all went for new tests on Sunday. The families of Correa and Vrsaljko were also tested, and these results also came back negative. Atletico Madrid revealed the identities of two cases in a statement released Monday afternoon.

“The club’s medical services have received permission to disclose their identities and stop speculating,” the statement said, before thanking the media for not revealing their identities so far. “Correa is in isolation at home with no symptoms”. Sime, who was recovering from an injury away from the group, is also asymptomatic and remains at home. However, Vrsaljko’s case is considered public health authorities because he generated antibodies several months ago. Doctors will monitor both players as specified in the health protocol.”
