Group G has some interesting teams. Despite not having a top tier nation in the Group, all the matches are exciting and driven. There are still four teams that can fight for the first position in Group.

 

Austria 6-0 Latvia

Latvia is the weakest team in Euro qualification by far. Before facing Austria, Latvia had only one goal scored and conceded 13 balls. It was a vital game for Austria as they had to win to keep the chance for 1st position.

1st half of the game

Arnautovic stole the show. Austrian forward scored twice and decided the winner side from the very first minute. Chinese League footballer was very active and had chances to score three or even four goals but could not convert those moments.

Center forward opened the score on 7th minute. In just six minutes Sabitzer scored the second goal for Austria and game lost the point. Latvia had a one shot on target during the first half.

 

2nd half of the game

Austria became even aggressive during the second half. David Alaba and co is fighting for the first position in Group, so it’s essential to score more goals. Austrians started the second half with long crosses, and during one of those long crosses, the referee saw the apparent fault in Latvia’s penalty area. Arnautovic successfully converted Penalty – 3:0;

From 75th minute, Austrian players started another period of aggressive attacks and scored three goals in 9 minutes. David Alaba and teammates were happy after a big win on Friday. Austrians have shown the real face of offensive attack and their mentality.

After the game, Arnautovic was happy with two goals and a vital three points. As of now, Austria is in 2nd position with 9 points in five rounds.

Slovenia 2-0 Poland

Group leader lost the game against Slovenia. It was a big surprise that Poland could not shot twice on target during the whole match. Lewandowski was frustrated as Slovenian defenders did an excellent job and made him disappear.

After five rounds, Poland is still topping the Group G. Lewandowski’s team has 12 points and scored eight goals. Austria, Slovenia, and Israel are behind Poland, but they still have a chance for 1st or 2nd position. Slovenia and Israel have 8 points each while Austria got 9 points in five matches.

Austria has scored more goals than any competitor in the Group. Team scored 13 goals but conceded six goals.
