Barcelona are interested in signing Amsterdam’s Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

According to the Dutch media, the Catalans have already addressed Ajax with a proposal for the 24-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper.

It is reported that Barcelona have offered Ajax three players in exchange for the goalkeeper: Neto, Carles Alena, and Riqui Puig (or Alex Colliado). For their part, the Amsterdamers want to receive 40-45 million euros in exchange for Andre Onana, who has a contract until the summer of 2022.

Barcelona is not the only club that wants to sign the Ajax goalkeeper. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Onana.

Onana does not hide that he is leaving.

The goalkeeper himself has openly told reporters that he hopes to change the club during the upcoming transfer window.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy at Ajax, and I’m grateful to the club. I’ve had five great years here, but it’s time to take the next step. We agreed with Ajax last year. I don’t know what will happen yet, but my ambition is clear. l go to the top-club.” said Onana. He claims that the gentleman’s agreement with the Amsterdam club entitles him to summer 2020.

Andre Onana was brought up at the Samuel Eto’o Academy, and in 2010 he was in the Barcelona system, although he never played for the club’s main team. Onana, in the Ajax squad, has won the Dutch Championship, the Country Cup and the Super Cup. He also played in the Europa League final and the 1/2 final of the Champions League.

In the 2019/20 Eredivisie, which was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Onana played in 24 matches, of which 8 kept the door dry.
