Barca want to sell Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona have lost patience with Ousmane Dembele, and they will be happy to find a way to get rid of him. It won’t be easy to do this because of how much they paid to sign him. But his trauma makes it all the more difficult to find a buyer. Barca has always believed in his potential. Josep Maria Bartomeu even went so far as to reveal he was “better than Neymar,” but injuries prevented him from ever delivering on the promise he came with. He showed promise – for example, against Tottenham – but he also left fans disappointed – by missing out on a glorious chance in the last minute Barcelona win over Liverpool in 2018/19, which would have put an end to all hopes of that Anfield comeback before it ever happened.

Dembele is currently in the final stages of his latest recovery process. Still, he is unlikely to be ready to take part in the Champions League clash with Napoli next week. Barca’s priority is to give him time to recover, and perhaps he can re-emerge at some point if Barcelona gets deep into the final rounds of the Champions League. Barcelona wants to sign Lautaro Martinez, but for that, they need to make space. The Catalans paid €105 million to sign him from Borussia Dortmund and another €5 million for every 25 appearances he played – currently 74. Ansu Fati is the man they have chosen to express their faith. So Dembele will be displaced to make space in the squad and raise funds to lead to Lautaro.

However, the reality is that finding a club to spend money on a Frenchman can be an impossible task, and no offers have been received in Catalonia yet.
