Batshuayi and Meunier scored in the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan giving them a 2-0 win. Belgium has won eight of their qualifiers with Kazakhstan not capable of progressing.
Belgium has kept up their 100% record in Euro 202 qualifiers. Roberto Martinez’s side has already booked their spot at the tournament finals having scored goals in each half to beat their hosts.
Batshuayi and Meunier found the net at the Astana Arena as Belgium registered an eight-straight win in Group I.
The top-ranked Belgians were the first team to book a place in next year’s 24-team final tournament when they trounced San Marino 9-0 at home on Thursday.
Batshuayi opened the scoring in their 21st minutes with an easy back post finish.
The second goal came from a sumptuous cross-filed pass from captain Eden Hazard, hit from just inside the Kazakhstan half, over to Meunier, who was steaming down the right-wing.
His first touch was sublime and his finish inch-perfect to double the score after the 53rd minute.
It was the 30th goal of the qualifying campaign for Belgium who has conceded only one.
Dries Mertens had a chance to make it 3-0 but headed over the top after 65th minutes before providing a square pass just minutes later that a stretching Batshuayi could only steer wide of goal.
Kazakhstan stayed in fourth place in the group with seven points from eight games. But they cannot qualify for next summer’s tournament.
Euro 2020’s qualifying group stage ends next month. Belgium is away to Russia then at home to Cyprus. Kazakhstan who could finish third, end their campaign with a double-header on the road against San Marino and Scotland, which are the teams below them in the group.
