Borussia Dortmund have signed Paris Saint-Germain’s Belgian defender Thomas Meunier.

28-year-old Meunier’s contract with the Parisian club expires on June 30, and he will be a Dortmund player from the next day. Since moving from Bruges to PSG in 2016, Meunier has won the Ligue 1 title three times and has played in more than 120 official matches.

Now Thomas Meunier has moved Park de France to Signal Iduna Park and Ligue 1 to a stronger Bundesliga. He signed a 4-year contract with Dortmund.

Thomas Meunier: “Dortmund’s Borussia plays exactly the kind of football I love, and I want to play – exciting, original and natural. BVB are known for their fans, whose atmosphere fascinated me when I played here in PSG. I’m ambitious. As in Bruges and PSG, I came here to win. ”

Recall that PSG and Dortmund faced each other in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. PSG won 3: 2 in two matches, and Meunier’s game earned the approval of Dortmund’s director, Michael Zork.

“Thomas has repeatedly proven his high class in the Champions League and the Belgian national team. He will definitely be useful to the club with his experience,” Zork said.

Achraf Hakimi’s 2-year lease from Real Madrid to Dortmund will end soon, and he needs a replacement. Meunier is also the right defender of the attacking style. Meunier, 28, became the third Belgian in Dortmund after Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard.
