Again, Bruno Fernandes has won the Premier League player of the month award that draws him to level with Cristiano Ronaldo’s total of four.

The Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has not yet spent a year in England’s top-flight but has incredible impact.  He has scooped his fourth Premier League of the Month award equivalent to Cristiano Ronaldo’s.

When compared, his compatriot’s haul was won across six seasons while Fernandes has done so in seven months. Ronaldo arrived as a raw talent in 2003 and began showing off his quality several years into his United career.  For Fernandes, he was signed as a finished product. Since he has proved that with an incredible number of assists and goals.

The 26-year-old first won the award in February 2020 which was his first full month in the Premier League. He went on to win it in June once football resumed from a forceful lockdown and also did the same in November and December.

Last month alone, Fernandes helped power the Red Devils to four wins and two draws in their six games. He scored three times as United climbed the Premier League table.

As such, only five players have won the award more times than the game-changer although he may soon draw level with them. These are the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Harry Kane and Steven Gerrard.
