The Premier League club, Chelsea are close to making it public the signing of the Germany international Kai Havertz.
It is crystal clear Chelsea fans have been dying to hear of Kai Havertz signing to the club. The 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star has been a hotly touted player in European football and Chelsea grabbed the chance to snap him up.
A number of clubs showed interest to the German international. However, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid did not want to spend the money due to the COVID-19 effect to their finance department.
Moreover, Chelsea hasn’t shied away from the transfer market. The club has already spent more than £200 million over the course of the transfer window.
This has resulted in Blues supporters’ frustration to the fact that Havertz signing hasn’t been announced despite the deal being done between the clubs.
Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen have agreed on a £72million deal with the chance of £18million with add-ons for the forward.
Consequently, Havertz is expected to carry out his medical test after he played his international matches for Germany.
The announcement is soon expected after that and Chelsea will be looking to other options to add to their spending spree.
One of those expected to is a new goalkeeper with the Blues looking to put pressure on Kepa Arrizabalaga for next season.
