As you know, Atletico Madrid defeated Liverpool (0:1, 3:2 – after Overtime) and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Atletico head coach Diego Simeone made a surprise statement about Liverpool:

“In my opinion, Liverpool have been mistreated. Judge yourself – both matches ended in a 1: 0 score, we were given an extra 30 minutes to correct the situation, they didn’t.

UEFA rules need revision and serious adjustment, that’s what I’ll talk about at the next conference. ”

Diego Simeone also spoke about Marcos Llorente, saying that he let the midfielder on the pitch for defensive purposes. The Spanish player, as you know, scored a double against Merseyside.

“In football, you need to make life difficult for your opponent. With the help of Diego Costa, Joao Felix, and Angel Correa, we have tried to press for high,” the UEFA official site quoted Simone.

“We didn’t give up after the second conceded goal, and when we scored, we felt everything was in our hands. Going into the 5-4-1 scheme should have helped us create moments of counterattack, and that’s what happened.”

“The appearance of Llorente instead of Costa was a defensive move, but it did not work out as planned,” the Argentine specialist added.

“Until now, I had only seen it on TV,” Felix said of the Enfield atmosphere

Atletico striker Joao Felix was thrilled with the atmosphere at Enfield. He commented about his feelings later:

“It was incredible. That’s not to say, but when they scored, their stadium and celebration …” quotes AS the Portuguese’s words.

“I had seen it on TV, but to see it live and to be in this magnificent atmosphere … very few wins here, we are very happy,” Felix added.
