Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria was punished for unsportsmanlike conduct in a scandalous match against Marseille (0: 1). The 32-year-old Argentine was given a 4-match disqualification. The official website of League 1 reports this.

In the third round match of Ligue 1, during which the players of the rival teams pushed each other, and the referee sent off five players, Di Maria spat in the direction of the defender of Marseille, Alvaro Gonzalez.

Neymar also received a red card, hitting Alvaro in the head. The Brazilian striker from PSG later said that Marseille’s Spanish defender had racistly insulted him. Although, Gonzalez himself denied the fact.

The conflict between Neymar and Gonzalez will be discussed on September 30. French media have speculated that opposing players will be disqualified from 8-10 matches, meaning they will have to miss almost every game left until the end of the calendar year.

After the last four rounds in the French championship, Paris Saint-Germain has a 2-2 win and loss and is in the 8th position with 6 points in the tournament table. Thomas Tuchel’s team will play its next match on September 27, away against Reims.
