Amid intense speculation about the future of one of the hottest prospects in world football, the representatives of the much sought-after 20-year-old have been paying visits to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Terzic ‘can’t stop’ Haaland and Raiola
Edin Terzic remains unrelated to the furore surrounding Erling Haaland. Borussia Dortmund’s interim boss is eager to point out that he “can’t stop” the Norwegian striker and super-agent Mino Raiola from embarking on a transfer tour of Europe. Amid intense speculation about the future of one of the hottest prospects in world football, the representatives of the much sought-after 20-year-old have been paying visits to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Dortmund are currently in England to face another of Haaland’s suitors, Manchester City, in the Champions League quarter-finals. At the same time, Premier League giants Chelsea are also said to be casting admiring glances at the prolific frontman.
BVB are happy that Erling is near
Terzic is aware of the circus around Haaland. Still, he is not going to lose sleep over questions that remain outside his control, with the German coach telling reporters when quizzed about the future of a prized asset: “It does not affect me because I cannot stop Mino Raiola and Alfie Haaland from travelling. “It’s up to them, they are adults, and they can choose what they want to do. I can have an impact on Erling, and we are delighted to have him in our team. He came back with us last Thursday when he returned from the Norwegian national team. From the very beginning, we had the feeling that he was thrilled to see us, and we are happy that he is near.”
“He is a wonderful guy, his qualities are well known all over the world. And we are proud and happy that he is included in our team.”
Jadon Sancho has been out from reuniting with his former club due to an injury
Real Madrid and Manchester United’s likes were sniffing around when Haaland decided to leave RB Salzburg for Dortmund in January 2020. His stock has continued to soar since then, with 49 goals recorded through 50 games at BVB. Of that haul, 33 efforts have come this season as talk of big-money moves and future Ballon d’Or wins continues to build. Haaland has now had Man City in his sights, but Dortmund will be without Jadon Sancho in the first leg capture of the eagerly anticipated continental clash. Injury has pushed the England international away from reuniting with his former club. But Terzic doesn’t expect the 21-year-old to be out from his plans for long.
He added on Sancho: “He started with a bit of running for the last couple of days. And we hope it won’t take long to get back to team training, but he won’t be ready for the next week, let’s say”. Man City take in a visit to Germany for the return leg of their Champions League tie against BVB on April 14.
