The coronavirus has spread to Manchester United coaching staff. The match against Newcastle scheduled for tonight will still be held.

 

A few hours before the 25th round match of the Premier League against Newcastle, several people in the Manchester United coaching staff were confirmed with the coronavirus.

According to English media, Mancunian head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not infected. The club’s official statement reads that Nicky Butt and Mark Dempsey will be next to Solskjaer in the match against Newcastle, as other members of the coaching staff have Covid-19 and have moved into isolation.

The Daily Mirror writes that Coronavirus was found by three members of United’s coaching staff today. Their identities are unknown. It is known that along with Solskjaer, Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher, and Kieran McKenna are in the headquarters. It is noteworthy that none of the United players had a positive response to the Coronavirus test.

The confrontation between Manchester United and Newcastle will be held tonight. Solskjaer’s team is in second place in the Premier League standings and is already 10 points behind the leader Manchester City. Newcastle are in 17th position and are fighting for survival.
