Favre was very happy with the pre-season of the team. Home-match against Monchengladbach was the first official match in the season for Favre’s team. As it seems, Dortmund had the whole squad ready and healthy.

Dortmund is 100% ready for a new season

Match between Borussia-based two clubs was very interesting. Dortmund was playing at home with a limited number of fans. Favre decided to bench Marco Reus (the captain of the team) and start a different strategy instead. Erling Haaland and Jayden Sancho were the main forwards and both played as the center-forwards. From the deep, we saw three attacking players – Witsel, Reyna and Bellingham. Hazard and Meunier were playing on the wings as an attacking-defender.

Monchengladbach has not changed a bit since last season. In the previous season, we saw a different version of Monchengladbach as the team that was the leader of the Bundesliga for a quite long time. The main goal for the club was to please Wolf and Stindl without leaving a team.

Haaland can’t stop scoring

Dortmund had a really good game. They were good at ball possession, and also during the counter-attacks. When the Monchengladbach was losing the ball, we all knew that Dortmund could start very sharp counter-attacks. We should note the third goal when it comes to counter-attacks. After the bad corner kick, Jayden Sancho along with Reus and Haaland ran so fast that defenders could not stop them. The dribble from Erling Haaland was impressive. After the match, Haaland’s dribble on his second goal was shared on Twitter and other social networks were shared thousands of times and we saw comments where people called him ‘not human’. During the third goal of Dortmund, Jayden got the ball from Monchengladbach’s bad corner kick and ran straight to the attacking line. After crossing the line, Jayden assisted Haaland and Norwegian player scored an easy goal.
