Kalidou Koulibaly are wanted by Manchester City and PSG. If the transfer does not complete this week, the Senegalese will stay in Napoli. City-Napoli negotiations are complicated by bad relations between the clubs.

Koulibaly is one of the greatest defenders on the market in this transfer window. Napoli agrees to sell the Senegalese, but asks for almost 80 million euros in it and does not reduce the price during the negotiations. Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis is one of the most difficult-to-negotiate men in European football.

Koulibaly has two fans: Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. City is considered the favorite. Throughout the summer, Napoli rejected a number of City offers.

Both City and PSG need a central defender. Thiago Silva has left Paris and has no replacement, while City’s Stones and Otamendi have long been unable to meet Guardiola’s demands.

The Italian championship starts in a week, and Napoli has issued an ultimatum to the teams wishing to sign  Koulibaly – they must complete the transfer this week, i.e., before the start of the championship. Otherwise, the Senegalese will stay in Naples.

City are offering a total of 5 million less than the amount requested by Napoli. However, negotiations between the teams are complicated by the fact that they do not talk to each other directly. Negotiations are being led by mediator Pali Ramadani, as relations between the clubs have been strained since De Laurentiis sold Georginio to Chelsea, not City.
