Manchester United hosted and defeated Manchester City (2:0) today in the 29th round of the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Noteworthy, that United had won only 3 of their last 10 away games at Old Trafford and only 1 in the Premier League!
United had one plus today, with Portuguese newcomer Bruno Fernandez, who has revitalized the club with his excellent game. Fernandes has had no problems adapting. Since January, he had been able to score 3 goals in 7 appearances for the new club T-shirt and also he assisted twice.
The Red Devils beat Pep Guardiola’s team in both championship matches – in the first round, Solskjaer’s men won 1: 2. Interestingly, United have beaten City twice for the first time since 2009/10. Back then, Sir Alex Ferguson’s team “United” beat City 4: 3 and 0: 1.
Anthony Martial scored the first goal in the 30th minute with the help of Bruno Fernandes’ excellent assist, and Scott McTominay also scored the second at the end of the match by the referee’s compensated minutes.
The City possessed the ball more, but United got better with a shot and an accurate shot. However, in terms of precise strikes, United appeared to be better.
