Is Eden Hazard one of the best player in the world at the moment? Will he be able to win the Ballon d’Or or come close to it? Or maybe the actual question is, does he care? So it seems to Gary Nevile.

One day, I guarantee, neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo will win the Ballon d’Or. It will be only when both the football legends have retired, but it will happen.

For the past ten years, the two have shared the prize between them holding off the likes of Neymar, Suarez, Lewandowski, Andres Iniesta from getting anywhere close to it.

Eden Hazard not interested in the Ballon d'Or

Could Eden Hazard one day be the man to claim to be the best footballer on the planet? At a certain point, it appeared as though it however then he fell away before coming back once more.

Addressing Sky Sports, in front of Chelsea’s 1-0 prevail upon Manchester United on Sunday, the Belgian fundamentally hinted that he couldn’t have cared less about being the best on the planet says:

“I am more about enjoying the game. I try to be the best, if I am not it is not a problem for me. I just want to enjoy being on the pitch. I know sometimes in football you have tough moments so I try to stay on the same level. It’s not in my mind to be the best.”

Eden Hazard included that the games weren’t about him scoring and impressing everyone, it was about the team winning. However, his unconcerned behaviour seems to have bothered Gary Nevil who commented:

“It deflates me enormously. It really does. He is a top player… look he beat me nine times out of ten in one v one situations so we’re talking about a top player.

“But we’re trying to push him into that Neymar category… he’s never going to get there, he deflated me with his passion.”

Gary Neville Pissed off about Eden Hazard's comments

Gary Neville does put a good point but would be taking the step to attempt to be the best player in the world harm or benefit Chelsea even more?
