As you know, Iker Casillas has officially ended his career. The legendary Juventus goalkeeper and his rival, Gigi Buffon, also responded to this fact.

 

The legendary Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, also responded to the end of the football career of the legendary Spanish goalkeeper, Iker Casillas. Gigi thanked his friend and former competitor in a Twitter post:

“It is said that competition makes you better than others, but not perfect. Perhaps this futile pursuit of perfection is what has made us what we are today.

Thanks, Iker. Everything would be less important without you,” we read in a Twitter post by the Italian goalkeeper.

As for Iker Casillas, he was brought up by Real Madrid. He made 510 appearances for Real Madrid and left the club in 2015.

Casillas has won the Spanish championship five times, the cup twice, and the Super Cup 4 times with a Real shirt. He has won the UEFA Champions League three times.

Together with the Spanish team, Iker became the world champion in 2010, winning the European Championship twice (2008, 2012).

According to reports, the legendary Spanish goalkeeper will return to Madrid and will work as an advisor to the president of the club, Florentino Perez.
