Borussia hosted Koln at home stadium on Saturday evening. Team was in a good spirit because of their successful run of the last few weeks.
Important three points for Gladbach
During the pre-match press-conference, Marco Rose admitted that the game against Koln would be very important. Taking three points in this situation would lead the team to a better spot in the Bundesliga. Unfortunately to Gladbach fans, the team lost the game and conceded two goals.
Marco Rose announced that the full squad of Gladbach is fit and ready. He started the match with a very interesting strategy. Embolo was the main striker and he was moving fast in the penalty area of Koln. His main target was tiring and losing focus of Koln’s defenders. Three midfielders were attacking from behind Embolo. Captain Stindl was playing in the central midfield and he was playing at the position of number ‘10’. Wolf and Herrmann were attacking from the opposite wings. Koln scored a goal in the 3rd minute of the match. Just like in the game against Stuttgart (mid-week match), Gladbach conceded a goal first. Fans believed that Borussia could turn things around. Gladbach started to be more aggressive in the attacking line. Soon, they scored an equalizer and there was a draw on the score-board during the break.

The attacker of Koln scored his second goal in the second half. At the start of the second half, Koln had few real chances. They were really good in one of those attacks and scored an easy goal. Monchengladbach attacked a lot in the second half but they could not score a second goal.
Marco Rose was not impressed after the game. He said that Koln played a really good match and they deserved three points. Although Gladbach was in need of three points, the team could not play well. Currently Gladbach is in the seventh position and is out of EuroZone. Potential three points against Koln would give them fourth position in the Bundesliga table. Marco Rose said that the team played a good match in the midfield but the defense line failed. Conceding two goals at home stadium is inexcusable, said head coach.
