Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola commented on the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and said he is very happy. After that, the Spanish specialist hopes that people will end the conversation about the accusations of Manchester City because it was proved that the club was innocent.

Josep Guardiola (Manchester City): “Today is a good day for football. If we had broken the rules, we would have been cut off from the European Cups now. The club thought what they did was right, and three referees confirmed that we did the right thing. Though some people have said that we lied and still lie, there was no presumption of innocence. I am very happy with the decision to prove that everything that people said about our club was not right.

We have the right to defend ourselves because we have always believed that we were doing the right thing. Hopefully, people will stop talking now. Otherwise, they’ll have to go to court for approval.

Now is not the time to talk about my future. A 1-year contract is a great time for a coach. My condition was evident even before yesterday’s decision. I said this a month ago: I will stay regardless of whether we play in the Champions League or not. “Some people in England said we could be relegated to the second division – in that case – I would still stay in the team.”

Recall that yesterday the Sports Arbitration Court overturned UEFA’s decision on a 2-year disqualification of Manchester City from the Euro Cups. In addition, a fine of 30 million euros was reduced to 10 million euros.
