Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he can now put Champagne in the fridge after defeating Crystal Palace 2-0.

City edges closer to the English Premier League title after Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres fired them to a 2-0 victory. The Citizens need only a single win from their four remaining matches to be crowned the 2020/21 EPL winners.

However, City waits for Sunday’s Premier League match between rivals, second-place Manchester United and sixth-placed Liverpool. Should United lose, therefore, City will officially be the EPL title winners.

“We can start to put the champagne in the fridge – not to open yet, but to think about it,” Guardiola said.

“The Premier League is already there – it is in our hands. We need one more victory, two more points,” the Spaniard added.

Manchester City turns their focus now on the UEFA Champions League semifinals second leg against PSG. City won 2-1 at the Parisian capital and will hope to wrap up a final spot at Etihad on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero marks his return with a stunning goal that gave Manchester City the lead. The argentine reveals he is in good condition and ready to play against Paris Saint-Germain if called upon.

Aguero said, “Always I am ready.”

“I finally played today. I feel good. My knee is so good. I wait for the opportunity to play, like today. So, I hope on Tuesday I can play, but if I don’t, it doesn’t matter,” he reveals.

“I want to be with my teammates and, of course, every player wants to play. We will see what happens,” he added.

Despite the departure announcement, Aguero says he is focused on giving his all until the end of the season.

“When the Club told me, I told them: ‘I don’t want anything!’ Honestly, I prefer to wait until the end. I always said it’s not for me to decide, the Club decides,” Aguero said.
