Rooney admits Aguero is among the best but doesn’t think the Argentinian is the Premier League’s greatest foreign striker. Former Manchester United striker believes Thierry Henry is the top import but not the City departing star.

“Aguero has been fantastic and is certainly right up there. But if I was asked to choose then I’d probably say Thierry Henry was the best foreign player,” Rooney said.

“There’s a few in a pack just behind him who are right up there like Aguero, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Dennis Bergkamp, and Eric Cantona.”

While Rooney dashes the claims that Aguero is the best, he did admit he is one of the great strikers. Rooney paid tributes to Aguero who has enjoyed a decade of laden trophies at City, “He’s right up there.”

The Manchester United Legend added, “He’s a fantastic player. He’s outstanding and has been a revelation.”

Rooney concluded, “Whether he stays in England I don’t know, but whatever he does, he’s certainly had a fantastic career,” .

However, reports claim that several clubs have contacted the City legend with Manchester United leading the English giants in the peruse. City have announced that Aguero will leave the club at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak also spoke of Aguero and his contribution to the Citizens. The Chairman claims, “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated.”

“This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches,” Manchester City Chair who insisted Aguero still has time stated.

“There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio. And we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead,” Al Mubarak said.
