Iker Casillas wants to take on the part of an advisor of Florentino Perez

Iker Casillas revealed that he has a desire to return to Real Madrid in a non-playing duty. Legendary goalkeeper Casillas decided to hang up his gloves on August 4th. As reported in July, he is expected to take on the part of advisor to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. “Nothing is closed yet, but I hope my next stage will be at Real Madrid,” Casillas confessed during an interview. “Leaving Real Madrid was traumatic, but this is my home. We broke up like when a marriage breaks up, and you say everything, and some things were poorly said and out of context, but time passes, and everything calms down.” When discussing his correlation with Florentino, the former Real Madrid captain indicated they are now going further better than when he left the club.

“As soon as two or three years have passed, I had a calmer relationship with Florentino, and he told me: ‘You should be here,” said Casillas. The 39-year-old confessed that now he needs to sit down with Real Madrid. “Now, in August, we will talk because Real is my home and my life,” Casillas said. “Recently, Florentino called me to propose, and now, when I return to Madrid, we will talk.” Casillas also stated that he throw his hat into the ring to try to become president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). “I almost won my candidacy, but political reasons weighed heavily,” he clarified. “There was a tough fight, and I decided to withdraw.”
