Ilaix Moriba will never forget his first senior goal for Barcelona

Ilaix Moriba will not forget his trip to Pamplona. The Spanish teenager scored his first senior goal for Barcelona in their 2-0 win over Osasuna in LaLiga Santander. In fact, his first strike in the main squad comes at the same ground where Ansu Fati scored his first Barcelona goal last season. “I love to shoot,” Ilaix told reporters. “I don’t know how I cut in and shot with my left leg; thanks to god, the ball went in. I will never forget this. I will take it to my grave. Ansu Fati is like a brother to me, and I have a lot of love for him. I’m delighted to have scored my first goal in the net that Fati did.” The 18-year-old has currently made six appearances since being promoted to the first team by Ronald Koeman. He hopes to help Barcelona to LaLiga Santander glory.

“From the first game, Koeman told me to look for a target, and so I did,” Ilaix noted. “We never thought the title race was over. It’s tough, but we’re going to fight – it’s in our DNA. I learned a lot at La Masia. They have taught me very well. I am very fortunate.” Ilaix Moriba said that he wants to dedicate that goal to his parents and family. Sunday’s Madrid derby will see two Barcelona title contenders go head to head – Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. “We have to see what the situation is in LaLiga,” said Moriba. “Let’s hope they both drop two points or that it’s Atlético who lose – they are the highest in the table.”
