Jordan Pickford made 10 important saves to grant the 10-man Everton a point in a goalless match played at a windy Selhurst Park stadium.

Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford demonstrated a spectacular performance as Jordan Ayew and Mex Meyer put the Toffees under pressure in the second half. German Meyer also put a goal attempt in the first-half when he looped the ball off Coleman’s feet.

The Toffees dominated the play during first-half. Sigurdsson fired a yard wide just before the center-back Coleman smacked a shot to the goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. This would have been a perfect opener for Marco Silva’s Everton Squad.

Gylfi Sigurdsson also made another incredible effort that was immediately blocked on the line. The block was directed to Richarlison who curved a sumptuous shot to the goalkeeper, Vicente Guaita.

At the 65th minute, Roy Hodgson decided to bring the winger, Wilfred Zaha to warm applause. The Ivorian international recently handed in a transfer request which included the opponents in the bid.

Zaha’s Substitution

Most of the Palace fans wished Zaha could have presented from the start of the match. They believed that Wilfred Zaha was the only player to open up Marco Silva’s defense that took the eagle’s hard during the first half.

Roy Hodgson’s decision was not bad. The player was not in the right frame of mind to start a game against Everton which had a bid on him. It was not a surprise that the manager did not consider him in the first 11.

The winger, Zaha did not bring such a massive impact on the game even after cheers from the fans dominating Selhurst Park. If Hodgson takes time to understand the Zaha’s mind well, then this season can also be very fruitful to the eagles.

Man of the match – Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford

The ex-Sunderland goalkeeper came to rescue the Toffees with incredible saves especially in the second half when Crystal Palace showed a massive attack on the Everton’s net.

Jordan Pickford became the man of the match, it seems 2019/2020 season is going to be his time to shine again just as he did in Russia 2018 world cup.

Marco Silva reaction

Just after the match ended, Everton manager did not seem to be impressed the performance his players showcased at the first half. He said, “Our first half deserved something more. A clean sheet, the attitude was there. We lost some easy balls and if it didn’t happen we would have controlled the game until the end.”
