Ronaldo continued his superb scoring form as Juventus win 2-1 away to Roma on Sunday. Sarri’s side moved two points clear at the top of Serie A.

Juventus struck twice in the opening 10 minutes as Merih Demiral met Paulo Dybala’s free-kick. Dybala then earned a penalty with which Cristiano Ronaldo duly converted.

It was Ronaldo’s 14th league goal of the season and his ninth in the last six Serie A appearances.

Things got worse for Roma towards the end of the first half. Winger Nicolo Zaniolo was taken off in tears on a stretcher and a doubt for Italy in this summer’s Euro 202.

Roma responded in the second half through Diego Perotti’s spot-kick. Diego Perotti’s penalty in the 68th minute gave the hosts hope heading into the final stages. But the Old Lady held on for all three points.

The results leave Juventus on 48 points at the top of the table while Roma is fifth on 35 points.

Earlier, Hellas Verona came from behind to beat Genoa 2-1 and rise to eight in the standings on 25 points leaving the relegation battling visitors stranded in the 18th place with 14 points.
