Former Spurs midfielder, Jamie O’Hara is not convinced Harry Kane quitting Tottenham is a guaranteed recipe for the success he is yearning for.
Harry Kane made comments a little while back that he would reconsider his future at Tottenham should he feel the club could not match his ambition to win trophies.
The comment sent alarm bells ringing with Lillywhite fans. Manchester United fans went into overdrive with regard to a potential 200-million-pound transfer.
Kane is arguably one of the league’s top strikers and Tottenham seems further than ever away from winning anything this season.
Moving club is never a guaranteed recipe for success. Not every transfer ends up like Robin Van Persie from Arsenal to United. The Red Devils are a mere shadow of what they once were.
O’Hara feels the striker should focus on Spurs rather than look elsewhere. Speaking to Talk Sport, the former Spurs midfielder insists his old club can match Kane’s ambition.
He said, “With Harry Kane, yes. He needs to win trophies. He’s one of the best strikers in the Premier League”.
“But I’m a little bot on the fence with saying: You’ve GOT to leave to win trophies if you’re a top player. It’s also about leaving a legacy in the game”.
“If Harry Kane leaves Tottenham, it might not work out. He might go to Manchester United and he might not win anything”.
It remains to be seen if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United will hold Kane as a high priority given the current start of affairs and probably limited funds. It may be a choice between Sancho and Kane.
