Karim Benzema is happy in Madrid and is not thinking about changing clubs.

Karim Benzema joined Real Madrid from Lyon in 2009 and became a key player for the Spanish club. The attitude of the fans of the “Royal Club” towards the 32-year-old player is mixed. Some like the French, while others criticize him and wait for him to leave the team.

In general, the French are torn between two extremes. Some fans believe that Karim is one of the most underrated players in modern football. According to them, Zinedine Zidane’s student deserves similar praise like Lewandowski, Suarez, or Aguero.

This is understandable, as the Algerian striker at the Santiago Bernabeu is the best with goals and assists after Ronnie’s departure.

In a word, it is possible to say a lot of positive things in favor of an Algerian striker. However, there is a second extreme – people who believe that Karim Benzema of the “Royal Club” is just a whim of Florentino Perez and the team needs a new forward.

Moreover, in their opinion, Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz are overshadowed by him. Benzema is often said to be losing on the pitch in matches against top teams. In their opinion, it is time for the Algerian striker to move at least to the bench, and at most to another team.

Karim is not going to leave the Royal Club until 2022

As you may know, the center-forward has a contract with the Madrid club until the summer of 2022 and most likely will not change the club until then. Karim is slowly getting older, and it is not far off when he will have to end his career.

Benzema has not ruled out returning to Lyon and ending his football career there, although this is a relatively distant plan, and so far, Karim is not going to leave Real Madrid.

“I think people know my attitude towards Lyon. Will I come back or not? I’m in the best club in the world right now and I want to continue my career here. To end my career in Lyon? Why not – Lyon is my club, and it’s in my heart,” Benzema said.

Karim Benzema has made 26 appearances for La Liga in the 2019/20 season, scoring 14 goals and assisting six.
