Gary Lineker has proceeded with his war of words with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this evening by trolling the Frenchman amid his side’s match against Spurs.
The BBC and BT Sports moderator named several time Champions League victor Benzema “slightly misrepresented” amid a current string on Twitter, which provoked Benzema to react by saying he was “humiliated” for Lineker.
Talking amid a meeting with Les Inrockuptibles, through MARCA, he stated:
“The criticism from ex-footballers who become journalists, some of who only share their hate, I feel sorry for them, frankly.
“They have experienced the same situations but don’t have solidarity.”
Indeed, the former England forward ruled against leaving well enough alone today around evening time by reigniting his fight on his online networking channel.
With Benzema and his Real Madrid partners seriously battling against Spurs at Wembley, losing 3-1 and proceeding with their weak beginning to the season, Lineker insidiously put the boot in indeed.
Oooof. Zidane issued his reaction to Gary Lineker’s remarks preceding this diversion, and he won’t be best satisfied with what he needed to state tonight.
Speaking to Goal, Zinedine Zidane said,
“It’s not just Karim, he’s annoying me with [what he says about] Karim because, for people who know football, it’s embarrassing.
“He’s the best number nine for Madrid, by a long way. Karim will not score 60 goals, but he will score 20 goals and assists for 30 or 40 more.
“It bothers me when people talk badly about my players. For me, Benzema is the best.
“For me, a striker doesn’t only need to score goals. Karim has everything, not only the goals.
“If Karim has been at Real Madrid for almost 10 years it’s not an accident. He always recovers from everything, always shows his qualities.”
