As you may know, ESPN has named Jurgen Klopp Coach of the Year. However, Klopp said Flick was the best.
One of the most influential web portals ESPN has published the ranking of the best coaches of 2020. According to the publication, the German coach of Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp was named the best specialist of the current year.
Interestingly, Klopp himself did not agree with ESPN’s decision. He thinks that Bayern coach Hans Flick deserved the title of the best.
“Do I deserve this award more than a flick? No. What I can say is that I did not vote. I was named the best coach of the year last year because I won the Champions League.
“Individual coaching awards do not matter much to me,” Klopp said.
In 2020, with Liverpool, Klopp won the English Premier League – an award they have been waiting for in Liverpool for 30 years. As for Flick, who won all possible titles with Bayern this year, he finished second in the poll.
