Liverpool need a defender. Nevertheless, Jürgen Klopp is not sure about the transfer in January.

One of Liverpool’s leaders, Virgil Van Dijk, has been unable to help the team for several months due to injury. The absence of a leader in the defensive line added to the injuries of other players and Jurgen Klopp found himself in a rather difficult situation.

The German specialist has recently been forced to step down from Fabiano midfield and play as a central defender. British publications reported that the Merseysiders would add a new defender in January. They have been linked with a number of players, including David Alaba, Ozan Kabak, Kalidou Koulibaly, and more.

Now the publication GOAL quotes Jürgen Klopp as saying that it is difficult for any club to make a transfer in January because due to the pandemic, the teams are in crisis and now spending the money will hurt them even more financially.

I do not know if we will buy a guard in January. Of course, injuries create a lot of problems for us, and the deduction of leading players is a big blow for us, especially against the background that the second half of the season is already starting and we are slowly approaching the decisive phase.

Despite all this, a transfer in the winter will be difficult for any club as the pandemic has caused great damage to the teams and now spending money will only deepen the crisis.

Every team has created its own situation, just like us. At this point, I would say that this season is good for us so far. Neither more nor less.
