According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid want to acquire Alexandre Lacazette from London Arsenal. The Spanish club plans to fight for the French forward’s transfer in the summer of 2020.
Lacazette appeared in the ranks of the “Gunners” in 2017 from French Lyon. England had high hopes for him, but the 28-year-old failed to impress the English fans.
After Diego Simeone’s team missed Antoine Griezmann, Atletico have trouble scoring goals and are looking for a forward.
Atletico wanted to add Lacazette in January, then switched to Edinson Cavani, but eventually, they could not make any of these transfers.
Lacazette has a contract with the London club until the summer of 2022, though he does not have a good relationship with Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta. As a rule, there should be no opposition from any side.
The French striker has made 20 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring 7 goals and 3 assists so far.
Atletico has also found a replacement for Simeone
According to the reports by influential Spanish publication Mirror, Atletico Madrid is considering to change their head coach Diego Simeone.
According to the source, the leadership of the Madrid team is observing the head of Wolves Nuno Espiritu Santo. Nuno is currently a head coach of Wolverhampton.
