PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo, believes he will soon be in position to provide a positive update on contract negotiations with Neymar and Mbappe.

Their focus should be on the Champions League

The Ligue 1 giants have been locked into renewal discussions with the two superstars as they approach the final 12 months of their respective deals. Neither give away much when it comes to their future plans, but Paris Saint-Germain is determined to ensure that free agency in 2022 is avoided as favorable new terms are introduced.

Referring to the progress made on the contract front after seeing Paris Saint-Germain on its way to a 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich, Leonardo said they would be happy to talk about contracts soon and will have to see how things are. It will be more specific soon, but for now their focus should be on the Champions League as they enter the final phase.

Journalists still connect Neymar with Barca

Brazilian international Neymar has seen a return to La Liga controversial since completing a record-breaking transfer to France from Barcelona in the summer of 2017. There are still rumors that he will be welcomed to Camp Nou if the opportunity presents itself, but the Blaugrana is currently in financial difficulties.

Barca is also said to be part of the ever-growing Kylian’s fan base. The World Cup winner saw his reserves skyrocket to the point that he is now one of the most sought-after talents in world football. Real Madrid has been watching the big money approach for some time, while Liverpool is also reportedly following developments in Paris closely.

The champions of France are forever in the marquee add-ons market, and this summer looks to be no different. Various targets are being identified, while there is still a chance that the six-time winner Ballon d’Or Messi could be made available as his contract in Barcelona expires. Milan goalkeeper Donnarumma is another one looking to see his deal expire at the end of the season, with a steady surge of interest in Italy.
